Intelligent Health:

The Convergence Of Data And AI

Vince Kuraitis
Ramanathan Srikumar

In the long run, healthcare will be profoundly changed and improved by AI. History might well show that healthcare was the single-most sector to benefit from AI.

There are thousands of new and incumbent companies, clinicians, and health systems experimenting with point solutions and application solutions. AI holds great promise for improving patient and clinician experience, improving quality and outcomes, and lowering costs. We remain optimistic.

This is just the beginning of the AI wave. The initial use of any new general-purpose technology – steam power, electricity, computing, the Internet -- is never an indication of the profound ways in which it ends up impacting life as we know it.

The fundamental way in which general purpose technologies have changed our lifestyles and the way businesses are conducted were not obvious at the time of the introduction of the technology.

Srikumar is an industry veteran with over three decades of rich experience in senior technology roles in the financial services sector. Over the course of his journey, he has seamlessly applied technology and innovation in addressing business opportunities and challenges. In his current role, he heads the Portfolio Group, leading a team of Industry Specialists, Solution & Enterprise Architects and Cloud Experts and all the go-to-market tribes. In this role, Sri is responsible to ensure that Mphasis solution offerings are best in class, innovative and in the path of relevance to our customers.

Prior to his current role as Senior Vice President, Global Head Industry Solutions, he was responsible for building the vertical industry focus. Prior to joining Mphasis, Sri served as Regional CIO at Citibank, leading the consumer banking technology for Citibank in Asia. While in this role, he initiated a number of digital innovations as well as conceptualizing and executing a Core Banking Modernization effort across Asia. While he started his career as a software engineer, he quickly specialized in Financial services becoming the CIO for the Singapore Derivatives Exchange, where he played a key role in introducing electronic trading and near real-time clearing operations.

Srikumar holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in marketing from XLRI and a bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
